YAMAHA UF-28 Used Motor Boats for Sale in Japan

We’d like to introduce the Yamaha “UF-28,” which was launched in July Heisei 5 (1993). A distinctive feature of this boat is that it has a detailed maintenance history.From annual oil and filter changes to the replacement of the lower unit with a brand-new unit in Heisei 20 and the replacement of the bellows and impeller in Heisei 20, you can trace the boat’s history year by year. The owner has performed all of this work personally.When you open the engine room, you’ll find the main engine in a condition that’s hard to believe it’s from Heisei 5, a clear reflection of the owner’s daily maintenance. ■ Recent Maintenance ・2025: Replaced the drive’s lower unit with a new one (due to internal corrosion caused by water ingress from the oil seal) ・2026: Replaced the bellows ・July 2026: Replaced the impeller ・June 2026: Replaced engine oil and oil filter(Performed annually) ・March–April 2026: Batteries replaced (2 × 12V, used in parallel) ・2026: Fire extinguishers replaced ・2025: Surveillance camera installed in the engine room (with lighting; allows visual inspection of stagnant water at the farthest point of the hull) ・Replacement of through-hull fittings for fish hold ・Approx. 10 years ago: Main engine overhaul / Intercooler replacement / Turbocharger replaced with a rebuilt unit ・Recently: Turbocharger exhaust-side hoses replaced with new ones (no corrosion observed on the exhaust elbow; only cleaning was performed) ■ Engine & Hull: The main engine is a Yamaha 6TB (SX420KS) 180-horsepower diesel with a stern drive. It is the original engine installed at launch. The hour meter reads approximately 2,520 hours. It is equipped with power trim and tilt. The hull is made of FRP, measuring 8.29 m in length × 2.35 m in beam × 0.64 m in depth, with a displacement of less than 5 metric tons. The maximum passenger capacity is 9 people. ■ Navigation Area & Vessel Inspection: Coastal waters (restricted).The vessel inspection is valid until July 27, 2029 (Reiwa 11). It passed its Type 1 interim inspection on June 10, 2026, and can be delivered with ample time remaining before the next inspection is due. ■ Usage History: This boat has been used for bluefin tuna fishing.The previous owner installed and used a manual winch on board. It also has a track record of being used for squid fishing. The primary fishing method was drift fishing, and it is reported that the boat was rarely anchored. The upper section of the handrails was rebuilt by the owner using stainless steel (butt-welded). The cabin features a berth and was used for overnight stays on board. ■ Honest Condition Report: While there are signs of wear commensurate with its age, no major structural damage has been identified. The following details are provided in all honesty: ・In the past, the boat ran aground on floating debris (a bundle of ropes), causing the propeller to detach and be lost. The boat became inoperable and had to be towed, but the propeller has since been replaced. ・A stainless steel plate has been attached to the lower bow as protection against impact during the grounding incident (installed and screwed in by the owner). No water leaks have been detected. ・There are repair marks on the gunwales and fenders from contact. It is believed this occurred when the boat shifted due to wind while temporarily moored. ・The tilt section of the drive unit previously experienced swelling due to salt damage; this was addressed by applying sealant and reassembling the unit. No overhaul has been performed. ・There is a history of water ingress into the engine room (less than 1 liter). As a result, a surveillance camera has been installed. ・The trim gauge is not functioning. The needle does not move even when the drive is tilted; this is reportedly due to a sensor malfunction. The owner has procured the necessary parts, but replacement requires removing the main engine. However, the owner has been operating the vessel by distinguishing the position based on the sound made when raising and lowering the drive, and reports that this has not caused any practical issues. ・The hull (outer plating) and bottom of the boat have not been painted. The cabin has been painted. ・The fuel filter has not been replaced, and the boat is not equipped with an oil-water separator. ・Minor rust is visible around the main engine mount. ■ Storage & Delivery: The vessel is currently stored on land in Hokkaido. It will be delivered “as is.” *The boat cradle is not included with this vessel.
